WARNING UPDATE. Flooding is expected in Vatersay Causeway. Act now.
The prevailing weather forecast, along with very high tides and waves means that flooding from the sea is expected during Storm Ashley.Gale Force westerly winds also means that a combination of wave overtopping, spray and debris may result in the closure of the Vatersay Causeway and road to Vatersay village. To find out if the road and causeway are closed, please follow the Western Isles Coastguard Facebook page www.facebook.com/hmcoastguardwesternislesskyeandlochaber/ The highest risk is either side of the high tides, which at Castlebay are on Sunday 20th October at 21:00.

WARNING. Flooding is expected in Vatersay Causeway. Act now.
The prevailing weather forecast, along with very high tides and waves means that flooding from the sea is expected [if relevant insert during Storm Ashley. Gale Force Westerly Winds also means that a combination of wave overtopping, spray and debris may result in the closure of the Eriskay Causeway. To find out if the road and causeway are closed, please follow the Western Isles Coastguard Facebook page www.facebook.com/hmcoastguardwesternislesskyeandlochaber/ Flooding is also possible north and west of the causeway to low-lying land, roads and properties including Polacher, West and East Kilbride. The highest risk is either side of the high tides, which at Castlebay are today Sunday at 21:00 BST.

An updated FLOOD WARNING has been issued for Vatersay Causeway.
The prevailing weather forecast, along with very high tides and waves means that flooding from the sea is expected during Storm Kathleen. Gale force winds mean that a combination of wave overtopping, spray and debris may result in the closure of the Vatersay Causeway and road to Vatersay village.

The highest risk is either side of the high tides, which at Castlebay are on Saturday 6th April at 17:45 BST, Sunday 7th April at 05:45 and 18:15 BST, and Monday 8th April at 06:30 and 19:00 BST.

The prevailing weather forecast, along with very high tides and waves means that flooding from the sea is expected during Storm Kathleen. Gale force winds mean that a combination of wave overtopping, spray and debris may result in the closure of the Vatersay Causeway and road to Vatersay village.
